International Year of the Periodic Table #IYPT2019

So, 2019 is a special year; our dear periodic table turns 150 years old. It is therefor a year to celebrate, educate and share our love for the table that Dmitri I. Mendeleev laid the ground for after his formulation of the “Periodic Law”.

I am fortunate to reside in Paris and therefore was able to attend (together with some members of the ECP lab) the opening ceremony of these festivities. A wonderful set of presentations with musical interludes and interactive chemistry demos made our day!

The light & music interlude was really something !

I Can’t wait to see what the rest of the year will bring ! Check out the homepage of the event to find out what is planned and how to join!

*2019 marks also the centenary of the IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry), a whole set of events will be held for that too ! (see link below)
